how do u go about getting a license and how old do you have to be in michigan?

    you have to take a test for each license,, as in electrical contractor,, plumbing contractor etc,,,or have taken courses and have experience ,, pay for a license,,, if you want to be a general contractor you have to know ALL the stuff,,,,,,i was 12 when i got my electrical license here in louisiana,,, not sure about michigan,,,why an age limit?? if you know it you know it

    18 and go to the Department of Consumer Affairs.

    18. Go to the commerce web site. You will take a test and pay a fee for whatever type of contractor you wish to be. For a licensed trade such as plumber or electrician you will need to be a master license holder or have a master license holder in your employ. Good luck.
