Here is the list of useful software for Civil Engineers and construction industry :

    1) Primavera Project Planner (P3) - for Construction Management, Project Schedulling & PERT/CPM
    2) AutoCAD - for drafting and plans/drawings
    3) MathCAD, MicroFEAP and STAAD - for structural designing and analysis
    4) 3D Home Architect - for interior designing
    5) Microsoft Excel - for estimate spread sheets and quantity surveying

AutoCAD, Excel, 3D Home Architect and MathCAD are very easy to acquire in all software stores and even counterfeited, while Primavera (P3), MicroFEAP and STAAD are expensive software and can only be acquired by licensed company.
